Six steps from drawings
to finished quantities.

01

Download & Install

Download the signed Windows installer, double-click, Next / Next / Finish. Takeoff Studio appears on your desktop. No Python, no plugins, no technical setup.

02

Open Your Drawing

Open a PDF drawing set and start on any sheet. Add more drawings anytime, and rename sheets that have no readable number. Buttery-smooth zoom and pan on full-size sheets.

03

Set the Scale

Pick a standard architectural or engineering scale, or calibrate off a known dimension. Scale is per-sheet, and takeoffs recompute automatically if you change it.

04

Measure

Measure Count, Linear, and Area with auto-straighten walls (hold Shift for freehand), inline arcs, multi-room areas and cut-outs. Live quantities and perimeter update on every click.

05

Organize

Color and hatch your takeoffs, tag them, overlay other trades, and draw Zones to assign a whole area to a donor, phase, or funding source — totals roll up on their own.

06

Export

One click builds a formatted Excel workbook priced by CSI, and a marked-up PDF / PNG or direct print of exactly what's on screen — ready for the bid and the client report.

Built by a construction professional.
For construction professionals.

Count, Linear & Area takeoffs
Continuous linear runs with auto-straighten (hold Shift for a freehand diagonal), inline curved arcs, multi-room areas with running perimeter, and area cut-outs that deduct automatically.
Bold colors & fill patterns
A high-contrast color palette plus hatch fills (horizontal, vertical, diagonal, crosshatch, brick) so two adjacent scopes read as clearly different — on screen and in print.
Zones — tag an area to a donor
Draw a region and every takeoff inside it is tagged at once (a donor who funds one wing, a phase, a grant). Fully editable — rename, recolor, reshape, copy to other sheets — and it totals itself in Excel.
Multi-drawing color overlays
Trace Architectural, Structural and MEP sheets over one another, each in its own color, with per-overlay nudge and scale to register mismatched sets. Spot clashes at a glance.
Master / linked Excel pricing
Price once on the By-CSI master sheet — Material, Labor and Equipment unit costs — and every category / zone tab links back and totals itself. Division subtotals and a sheet total on every tab.
Notes, movable labels & print
Stamp callouts, drag quantity labels off the linework, and export or print a marked-up PDF / PNG that shows your markup, overlays, zones and notes — for the bid and the client report.
